Industry & Community Involvements
New Zealand’s future prosperity and economic progress is closely linked to the Asian region. With the development of an e-global economy, Augen has recognized the importance of building international links and networks with Asia.
In New Zealand, we have commenced this process by providing assistance and advice to a number of organisations; as well as participating in their initiatives, missions, projects and events for developing awareness, interest, understanding, connections and activities with Asia.
These organisations include:
- Asia New Zealand Foundation (Asia:NZ)
- Auckland Chamber of Commerce & Industry
- AUT University (AUT)
- Economic Development Associations of New Zealand (EDANZ)
- Export New Zealand (ExportNZ)
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MFAT)
- New Zealand Health-IT Cluster (NZHITC)
- New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE)
- University of Auckland (UoA)
At the industry level, Augen understands the challenges faced by New Zealand ICT companies when they try to grow into foreign markets. Having already established our presence in Asia, as well as facilities, resources and business networks in the region, we are now also working with a number of market experts and organisations to help establish channels and capabilities - for New Zealand software product / software-as-a-service businesses to expand into Asia’s many large and fast growing markets.
We are also an active participant in:
- Connect New Zealand (ConnectNZ)
- Kiwi Expat Association (KIA)
- New Zealand Computer Society (NZCS)
- New Zealand Health-IT Cluster (NZHITC)
- New Zealand Software Association (NZSA/SofwareNZ)
- New Zealand Wireless & Broadband Forum (NZWF)

Since choosing to establish Augen Vietnam, we have become increasingly interested in Vietnam’s economic and social development. Through participating and adding value to ICT industry forums, initiatives and organisations, as well as advising Vietnamese universities on ICT education, we are actively engaged in helping Vietnam develop its human capabilities in the ICT sector.

- Vietnam Association for Information Processing
- Vietnam Electronic Industries Association
- Vietnam Software Association

The Asia Pacific region is much wider than New Zealand and Vietnam. Our activities in both countries have lead to our interest in the overall growth of the region and its development progress and issues. We believe there are opportunities for New Zealand organisations to “make a difference”– through participating and adding value to forums and initiatives, such as the Asia Society and their Asia 21 Program. One of Augen’s founding directors, Mitchell Pham, was appointed as an Fellow of this organisation in 2008, facilitating regional interests from both New Zealand and Vietnam.
