This position is for an experienced Technical Lead to join our Augen New Zealand team, in Auckland. You will be part of an exciting team composed of both local and offshore talent, working on a wide range of technologies for software projects across our NZ customers.

This role suits a person who is, at their core, passionate about coding and keen to develop their leadership skills. You'll be well experienced with full-stack development skills, ideally across web, mobile and integration.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may see you developing code, peer reviewing your teams work, contributing to daily stand ups and giving technical direction to your team. At times you may be needing to work directly with the client to help make key decisions in their technology choices.

We frequently work on green-field projects using the latest technologies. This may require you to learn a new product or technology – keeping fresh with today’s tech skills.


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership of our customer projects
  • Fostering a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed within your team

You’ll have experience in:

  • Server-side programming (.Net Core and/or NodeJs)
  • Web Development including ASP.Net MVC and popular JavaScript frameworks (VueJS, ReactJS or Angular 6+)
  • Cloud development experience (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • SQL Server and other relational databases.
  • Unit, performance, and scalability testing.
  • Agile and traditional project management principles and practices, and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.

You’ll need to have:

  • Excellent technical leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • 7+years’ practical experience in designing, developing and delivering commercial software applications.
