Technical Lead

The Job

This position is for an experienced Technical Lead to join our Augen New Zealand team.

You will be part of an exciting team composed of both local and off-shore talent, working on one or more projects on a wide range of technologies.

You will provide technical leadership, with a priority to achieve high performance and quality outputs that meets our customer needs. Augen works in a hybrid-scrum development environment which will require you to have strong communications and be proactive in your approach to solution delivery.

Your day-to-day schedule may see you developing code, peer reviewing your teams work, contributing to daily stand ups and giving technical direction to your team. At times you may be needing to work directly with the client to help make key decisions in their technology choices.

We frequently work on green-field projects using the latest technologies. This may require you to learn a new product or technology – keeping fresh with today’s techs, and complete discovery tasks including deriving estimates for the next piece of work to be approved.

Your Skills and Experience

Must have:

  • Expertise in server-side programming (.Net Core and/or NodeJs)
  • Expertise in Web Development including ASP.Net MVC and popular JavaScript frameworks (VueJS, ReactJS or Angular 6+)
  • Cloud development experience in Azure or AWS
  • Expertise in SQL Server and other relational databases.
  • Comfortable with unit, performance and scalability testing.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices, and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
  • Strong communication skills. Must communicate effectively and interpret different levels of understanding.
  • 5+years’ practical experience in designing, developing and delivering commercial software applications.

Nice-to-have:

  • Mobile App experience – NativeScript, Xamarin or native Android or iOS
  • Service Bus/Message experience - Azure Service Bus, Apache, Kafka
  • Container experience; Docker, EKS, AWS
  • Security Experience; Open ID Connect, Azure AD and ADB2C, Auth0, JWTs
  • CI/CD experience; Azure Devops Deployment Pipelines, Octopus, Bitrise
